Sharks Are Swimming Near Two Maine Beaches

KENNEBUNKPORT, MAINE — People spotted sharks off two Southern Maine beaches Thursday. One was Gooch's Beach in Kennebunk. The other was Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport. Some sightings are basking sharks, which are harmless filter feeders, or seals breaking the surface. The sightings fit a pattern this summer.
