How do we know a story is worth sharing?
A quick preview of how our daily paper turns a big headline into an honest conversation at the table.
Before we tell you a story, we check where it came from. We look for people who were there, ask good questions, and tell you what we know.
Before a story goes in the paper, we check the source, look for more than one point of view, and make the difference between a fact and an opinion clear.
Our reporting starts with original sources whenever possible, then tests the claim against independent evidence. When facts are still developing, we say so — because confidence is not the same thing as certainty.
A real edition will identify each source and include context for the level your reader chooses.
